Being a home girl, when it comes to my biggest imspiraiton over 35 year, it would have to be Paul Serville. Being a founder member of Servilles, I was fourtunate enough to be Paul’s apprentice. His never ending drive for the next trend is next to none.
WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR PROUDEST CAREER MOMENT?
That is hard to pinpoint. I am very proud of the new generation of hairdressers that I work with. Watching and being part of their journey to become confident and creative stylists brings me joy.

One of the people I find inspirational is Surrealist Salvador Dali. He made me realise that illusion can create many different effects in how we perceive something. I try translating that in how I see my guest in front of me.

Becoming a Platinum Stylist and having a great client of clients that I love to see every 6 – 8 weeks.

My Wife is my inspiration, she has been a great support to me and really helped me get into Hairdressing.

When I did my studies in Mumbai, I was placed as Number One in my class, this was a special one off award granted to me. I started my Hairdressing in Mumbai before coming to NZ to retrain with Servilles Academy.

Either at home with my wife and daughter, at a friends place or out shopping.

If you love abit of volume, always blow wave the opposite direction to the hairs natural fall when wet, this will build a foundation from the scalp. You can also try to flick and change your parting, rather than parting it in the same place.

I love and can work on all hair types, but I especially love working on short bobs.

Back in the early 2000s, as a courlist I was lucky enough to attend, back then as jusband and wife team, ‘Brookes + Brookes’ Hair Show. That show always to this date is the most inspiring for me.

I get clients to make their own toner colours at home using food colouring or foods e.g. beetroot juice, coffee. More natural and gentle on the hair.
