In our winter series titled ‘Servilles Loves,’ we are profiling some of New Zealand’s most influential creatives that work both in front and behind the scenes. We will interview them on their favourite products that keep them looking top-notch and get some insight into what keeps them inspired during the colder season.

This week we have designer and all round cool girl Liz Wilson who owns the label Eugenie.

NAME: Liz Wilson

AGE: 33

OCCUPATION: Designer and founder of Eugénie

HAIR COLOUR: Dark brown

PRODUCT OF THE MOMENT: I’ve never found a lip product I like more than Tarte lip tint in “envy”. It looks like bitten natural lips and it’s not too glossy, it suits my imprecise application style and you can drink and eat while wearing it without getting it on your chin.

BEST BEAUTY ADVICE YOU HAVE EVER RECEIVED: My mum banned me from plucking my eyebrows too thin when I was young. It was very hard to resist at age 15 when I was bored and curious, but I’m glad I held out. Also, figure out your eye shape (thank you youtube), it took me a long, long time to work out why all of the eye shadow attempts I tried totally disappeared when I opened my lids.

WHAT IS KEEPING YOU INSPIRED THIS WINTER: Reading Werner Hertzog, A guide for the Perplexed, and dreaming of owning a dog.

YOUR FAVOURITE PLACE IN AUCKLAND: Right now, at home by the fire.

YOUR FAVOURITE QUOTE AND WHY: “So here is the quick way of working out if you’re a feminist. Put your hand in your pants.
a) Do you have a vagina? and
b) Do you want to be in charge of it?
If you said ‘yes’ to both, then congratulations! You’re a feminist.”
