Julian Dashper at Michael Lett

Julian Dashper’s whimsical abstractions on display at the moment at Michael Lett Gallery (On until June 20th) are a definite must-see at the moment!
The late Dashper is known as one of the most highly regarded contemporary New Zealand artists who continues to exhibit and inspire on an international scale. This collection of works produced around the late 1980s are a total throw-back to the pre-digital internet age with gridded slides of his works slightly hovering off the wall.

These beautiful slides showcase the flow and the accessibility to distribute images, ideas, perspectives and information beautifully and implicitly. His paintings splashed with vibrant colour and playful geometry are super fun and carry a unique energy throughout the gallery.

This exhibition by the extremely talented artist makes us proud of our countries creatives who are still influencing us today.
